Top 8 South Regional track and field results

Mia Friesen was Niagara’s top performer on the first day of the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations’ South Regional track and field meet held at Chinguacousy Park in Brampton.
The Grade 10 student at Governor Simcoe won the junior girls 80-metre hurdles in a time of 12.17 seconds and also placed second in the long jump.

Crossley’s Carter Teal in the junior boys 100 metres; Governor Simcoe’s Nathan D’Costa in the junior boys discus; Governor Simcoe’s Emma McDougall in the senior girls javelin; Notre Dame’s Daniel Durkin in the senior boys javelin; and, Beamsville’s Shannon Swinson in the girls intellectually disabled 100 metres.

The top four finishers advance to the OFSAA championships June 7-9 at York University.
