It was a winless home weekend for the Niagara Generals travel football program.
The atom Generals were edged 19-18 by the Cambridge Lions, the peewee Generals fell 20-6 to the Burlington Stampeders, the bantam Tier 2 Generals were shaded 7-6 by the Burlington Stampeders and the Tier 1 bantams lost 69-12 to the Cambridge Lions

“Our defence really stepped up its game and held them to a low score,” Generals peewee coach Bruce MacRae said. “Our O-line played 110 per cent better.
“With a little more practise, I’m confident we will start putting more points on the board.”
STAMPEDERS 7 GENERALS 6
Ben Maglicic scored the lone Niagara touchdown as the Generals bantam Tier 2 squad was edged 7-6 by the Burlington Stampeders.
“Both defences played extremely well in this matchup,” Niagara coach Rob Jokic said.
LIONS 69 GENERALS 12
Nick Longo returned a kickoff 75 yards for a score and Quinn Johnston had three catches for 79 yards, including a TD grab, but it wasn’t enough as the bantam Tier 1 Generals lost 69-12 to the Cambridge Lions.
Playing well on defence for the Generals were: Aiden Dubeck, six tackles; Lucas Hazelton, five tackles and two pass knockdowns; Francesco Dalla Valentino, five tackles and a pass knockdown; and, Ryan Broome, four tackles and a fumble Recovery
Outstanding efforts for Niagara were contributed by Lucas Hazelton and Francesco Dalla Valentino.

Generals games this Saturday at Kiwanis Field include: the Vaughn Rebels versus the Niagara atoms at 9:30 a.m.; the Hamilton Junior Tiger-Cats at the Niagara peewees at noon; the Guelph Gryphons at the Niagara bantam Tier 2 squad at 2: p.m.; and, the bantam Tier 1 squad hosting the Burlington Stampeders Team 2 at 5 p.m.
