Oct. 17 Area sports: SuperDogs; boxing results; Welland minor hockey
The Niagara IceDogs will be wearing specialty Superhero jerseys Friday when they host the Windsor Spitfires.
All game-worn jerseys will be auctioned live post-game in Section 105, with all proceeds from the auction being donated to Family and Child Services Niagara (FACS Niagara).
The IceDogs have a long-standing relationship with FACS Niagara. Each season FACS Niagara will host their employees, volunteers, foster families, and friends/families at IceDogs games to show their appreciation, and this season the IceDogs have partnered with FACS Niagara to give back to a significant member of the Niagara community.
October is Child Abuse Prevention Month and this week is Foster Family Week. The IceDogs are paying tribute to the Superheroes in Niagara who have stood up for children, and who continue to do so — the FACS Niagara Foster Families, Volunteers, Staff and Community Partners and Community Members.
All proceeds from the jersey auction will be donated directly to the FACS Foundation.
Luke Pasmore of Luke’s Auctions will be performing the live auction after the game.
