Cyclone jump on Blue Bears
The E.L. Crossley Cyclone lived up to their No. 1 billing with an easy win on their home court Thursday morning at The 65 Annual Tribune Boys Basketball Tournament.
The Cyclone jumped out to a huge lead early en route to a 69-31 victory over the Port Colborne Blue Bears.
“I told the kids you have to treat every game the same, no matter who you are playing against,” Crossley coach Brian Bleich said. “It doesn’t matter if it’s a weaker team or a strong team, you have to come out and play it like you play it. You practice like you play and play like you practice.”
Bleich wanted to set the tone in the first game.
“We have to play more games and if you get sloppy here, you’ll get sloppy later,” he said.
A total of 10 Crossley players hit the scoresheet.
“I was happy. We played everybody and got into the game,” Bleich said.
