IceDogs drop fourth straight

The Erie Otters broke open a close game with three goals in the third period to defeat the Niagara IceDogs 4-2 in Ontario Hockey League action Saturday night at the Erie Insurance Arena.
The loss was the fourth straight for Niagara, which dropped to 15-19-4-1.
Hayden Fowler opened the scoring for the Otters 2:20 into the game.
Following a scoreless second period, new IceDogs captain and former Otter Ivan Lodnia netted his 21st to even the score at 1-1.
Jamie Drysdale gave Erie a 2-1 lead eight minutes into the third before Maxim Golod fired the game-winner halfway through the third put the Otters up 3-1.
A.J. Cook got the IceDogs back to within one with his first OHL goal at 13:45 before ex-IceDog Kyen Sopa scored into an empty net for Erie.
Newly acquired forward Cameron Peters was in the lineup, starting on the second line with fellow newcomer Cameron Butler for Niagara. Both were held off the scoresheet.
Andrew MacLean made 29 saves in a losing effort.
The IceDogs are home to Barrie Friday and North Bay Saturday.
