Following are results from the Niagara Region Minor Football’s Under Armour Summer Flag Football League:

WEEK ONE

Grades 5-6 scores: Airforce 32 Raiders 0; Rams 30 Cowboys 6; Rams 24 Packers 6; Longhorns 14 Ravens 7 (For Ravens: Nikola Waller, TD).

Grades 7-8 scores: Patriots 20 Army 19; Argos 18 Steelers 6; Cowboys 29 Vipers 22; Steelers 31 Dragons 24 (For Dragons: Bobby Bremner, 2 TDs; Evan Steinschifter and Marco Angelini, TDs).

Grades 9-11 scores: Eagles 37 Rams 0 (For Eagles: Stajia Williams and Jacob Jackson, two TDs; Elili Pierobon, TD and interception; Michael Cololavecchia, TD; Andrew Devine, convert; Marcel Salmen, interception; Ayden Maxim, six TD passes); Ravens 37 Browns 6; Sooners 14 Gators 14.

WEEK TWO

Grades 3-4 scores: Saints 13 Blue Bombers 13; Saints 24 Bears 12.

Grades 5-6 scores: Airforce 46 Cowboys 8; Raiders 21 Longhorns 12 ; Rams 18 Ravens 6; Packers 30 Cowboys 18 (For Packers: Dyami Maphar, two TDs; Calum Moore, TD; Benji Kolodziejczak, two TD passes).

Grades 7-8 scores: Argos 31 Army 14 (For Army: Liam Hereries and Oliver Kuebeck, TDs,; Calem Smith and Brayden Wencel, TD  passes); Cowboys 38 Patriots 32; Dragons 24 Vipers 0; Steelers 24 Vipers 18.

Grades 9-11 scores: Eagles 33 Browns 6 (For Eagles: Stajia Williams two TDs; Michael Colavecchia, Matt Bennett and Marel Salmen, TDs; Jacob Jackson, convert; Eli Pierobon, two-point convert; Ayden Maxim, four TD passes); Sooners 19 Rams 12; Ravens 12 Gators 0.

Bernie Puchalski, a graduate of Brock University and Niagara College, worked in journalism in Niagara for more than 27 years before taking a voluntary buyout from The Standard at the end of 2016. He started his career as a news reporter for the Niagara Falls Review before switching to sports reporting. He was a sports reporter and sports editor at the Niagara Falls Review before joining the Standard's sports department in 1996. He was named the Standard's sports editor in 2000 and became the regional sports editor, in charge of the Niagara Falls Review, Welland Tribune and Standard, in 2015, a position he held until he left the company. During his time in newspapers, he was a multiple winner and finalist for numerous Ontario and Western Ontario Newspaper Awards for sports reporting, spot news reporting and humour writing. He was a member of the Standard Boys Basketball Tournament committee and co-chair of the Standard Girls Basketball Tournament, helping to raise tens of thousands of dollars for bursaries presented to participants in the tournament. He also served on countless local sports committees both in Niagara Falls and St. Catharines.
