Weekend Junior B roundup: Sailors win first; Panthers split with Kilty B’s
The Port Colborne Sailors got into the win column for the first time this season with a 6-3 victory in Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League action Sunday night at the Welland Arena.
Port, which dropped their home opener 4-3 to Fort Erie last week, broke open a close game with four goals in the third period.
Captain Dylan Pergentile paced the Sailors with two goals while Aiden Cupelli also scored twice. Tristian Chevalier and Nathan Kelly added singles while Brendan Grenville chipped in with three assists.
Matthew Coates, Nico Kalpakis and Adam Bignucolo replied for Welland.
Isaac Gravelle made 14 saves to pick up his first junior win in goal for Port.
Ethan Labbe faced 44 shots in goal for Welland.
Panthers 4 Kilty B’s 2
The Pelham Panthers rebounded from a 9-1 shellacking in Hamilton Saturday to double the Kilty B’s at home Sunday afternoon.
Connor Clark paced Pelham with two goals while Thomas Sefton and Jordan Adams added one each.
Logan Slou made 43 saves to earn the win.
Ryan Wercholaz and Joshua Avery replied for Hamilton.
In Hamilton Saturday, Evan Krell, Jake Peters and Austen Pomerleau scored two each while Radley, Brady Wassink and Avery added singles.
Cole Scullion made 38 saves for the win.
Cooper Drennan replied for Pelham.

Corvairs 5 Junior Canadians 1
Owen Rainey and former Niagara IceDog Sami Douglas each scored twice as the Caledonia Corvairs topped the visiting Welland Junior Canadians Saturday in Caledonia.
Dylan Wardell rounded out the scoring for the winners.
Nathaniel Boyes made 17 saves in net for the win.
Val Johnston netted the lone Welland goal.
Stanley Mannella faced 54 shots in net for the Junior Canadians.
