GENERALS PEEWEE AA 40 TITANS 0
Declan Bokma scored two touchdowns and rushed for 150 yards to power the Niagara Generals peewee AA (under-12) football team to a 40-0 victory over the Oakville Titans.
The offensive line was unstoppable opening large gaps for the running backs to rush through and contributed to rushing majors by Austin McKinnon, Michael Yerich and Zahim Phillip.
The defence was also outstanding, lead by Jorge Corredor Reyes, Cole Bertrand and Karson Stevens, who all had multiple tackles for a loss. The pressure on the opposing quarterback was a difference maker.
Niagara improved to 2-0 with the victory.
“The defence was a huge part of our success allowing our offence to have multiple opportunities to thrive against Oakville’s defence,” coach Andrew Lewis said. “The offensive line really did a great job of moving and blocking defenders allowing for the offence to have continued success on the ground and in the air.”
BISONS 30 GENERALS PEEWEE A 8
The Niagara Generals peewee A squad fell to 0-2 on the season following a 30-8 loss to Brantford.
“The offence was lead by Leo Phillips and Lucas Benner-New, both who had multiple excellent runs. Unfortunately, they were held off the scoreboard by the Bisons’ defence,” Lewis said. “The defence struggled to stop the sweeps to the outside which was a big factor in the game.”
Blocking was a major issue for Generals on offence.
“The air attack had some success and saw the only touchdown of the game for the Generals scored by a receiving touchdown caught by Preston Huibers,” he said. “The defence had some positive moments throughout the game but a large issue was stopping the outside run which lead to multiple scores.”
ATOM (U10) HOUSE LEAGUE
The atom house league opened action with a 33-20 victory by the Chiefs over the Bills.

For the Bills; the offence did an all-around great job for its first official game and they all played very well; great runs by Malakai Williams, including a touchdown run, and some big blocks; two touchdown runs by Carter Bacon; two converts by Denver Yates with some good decision making as QB to gain some extra points; great job on the O-line of Charles Stewart, Elijah Bastings and George Mackie; strong defence by Charles, Elijah and George; and, Brock Mitchell came in for the second half and played well at centre and also on the defensive line.
