IceDogs ink winger
The Niagara IceDogs have signed forward Jonah De Simone.
The winger was drafted in the fourth round, 70th overall, in this year’s OHL Priority Selection.
“This is an exciting day for myself and our entire organization,” IceDogs general manager Joey Burke said. “Jonah is a player we have loved since our first viewing early in the season, and he continued to impress all year. With this signing, we have solidified our deep 2002 draft class and provided some much needed depth going forward. He is a guy with big offensive upside who is detailed, moves well, and works extremely hard and will fit in great with our style here in Niagara.”
The 5-foot-10 winger was a dynamic force in minor midget with the Mississauga Reps of the Greater Toronto Hockey League, finishing the season with 11 goals and 26 points in 33 games.
