The Tigers look to make it nine victories in a row as they host the Stoney Creek Minor AE Warriors on Saturday, Dec. 8. Puck drop is at 3:10 p,m. in the main arena.
STILL UNDEFEATED
The Welland Mike Knapp Ford novice A Tigers extended their regular season undefeated string to 11 games on the weekend with a tie on home ice.
The latest opponent to try and knock the Tigers from the undefeated ranks was the Lincoln Blades.
The Blades currently sit in first place in the Niagara District Hockey League novice division by virtue of having played five more games than Welland.
The Blades were the first to get on the scoreboard early in the first period.
Both teams played to a scoreless second period before Mackenzie Welychka found the back of the Lincoln net at the end of a solo break away.
The Tigers regular season record now stands at 10-0-1.
In the Welland net for the tie was Jackson MacLeod.
The Tigers are back in action when they are home to the Glanbrook Rangers on Saturday, Dec. 8 and the Port Colborne Sailors on Sunday, Dec. 9.
