Blackhawks blank Regals
The Thorold Blackhawks got back on the winning track with a 6-0 victory at Buffalo Sunday night in Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League, Golden Horseshoe Conference action.
Griffen Fox and Mitch Britton each had two goals and two assists for the Blackhawks while Dante Massi and James Guest added single.
Eric Dhillon, younger brother of Niagara IceDogs goaltender Stephen Dhillon, made 22 saves to earn the shutout.
The Hawks improved to 3-4-1 while the Regals are still winless at 0-7.
The Hawks host Caledonia Thursday at 7:07 p.m.
Canucks 4 Panthers 0
The Niagara Falls Canucks climbed back over the .500 mark at 5-4 with a shutout win at Pelham Sunday afternoon.
Maxwell Lightfoot, Frank Pucci, Garrett Downie and Tanner Brown scored.
Zach Moore made 27 saves for the shutout.
Corvairs 2 Junior Canadians 1
Adam Craievich and Andrew Burns scored for the Corvairs.
Brendan Rylott replied for the Junior Canadians.
Charles Grimard kicked out 48 saves for Welland.
Former Junior Canadian Brandon McCorriston made 14 saves for the win in net for the Corvairs.

Meteors 4 Junior Canadians 2
The Fort Erie Meteors scored a pair of goals in each of the first two periods en route to a win over the visiting Welland Junior Canadians.
Daniel Nardi, Drew Passero, Tyson Moore and Garrett Jennings scored for the winners.
Noah Blakely and Noah Bollert replied for Welland.
Corvairs 5 Avalanche 2
The Caledonia Corvairs broke open a close game with a pair of goals in the third period to defeat the visiting Ancaster Avalanche.
Eddie Schulz, Andrew Burns, Craievich, Jesse Barwell and TJ Hughes scored for Caledonia.
Brad Lindsay and Liam Van Loon scored for the Avs.
It was a penalty-filled affair with Caledonia spending 42 minutes in the box and Ancaster 44. Overall, 27 infractions were called.
