Brekkie with Dunkin and pals
No Family Day weekend would be complete without breakfast with Dunkin the River Lion and his pals.
The Canadian Elite Basketball League champion Niagara River Lions will be hosting its Second Annual Breakfast with Dunkin and Friends on Saturday, Feb. 15 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Merritton Legion on Chestnut Street in St. Catharines.
Breakfast is only part of the morning. The event will also include face painting, colouring, a photo booth, a complimentary swag bag upon entry for children 13 and under and a chance to meet multiple mascots. The full mascot lineup will be announced at a later date.
“The event will aim to bring together fans and celebrate a sense of community in the spirit of Family Day weekend,” a press release from the River Lions said.
The cost of tickets is $10 and $5 for season ticket holders. Proceeds from the event will be donated to Stubs for Cubs, a team initiative that provides hundreds of underprivileged children and families the ability to attend a River Lions game.
The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 138 Merritton is providing its venue to host this family-oriented event.
“The Legion’s community-focused environment is the perfect setting for an event aimed at bringing together families, River Lions fans, and local residents in celebration of Family Day weekend,” the release said. Those interested in attending can register here.
