Bulldogs reach OFSAA quarter-finals
The Sir Winston Churchill Bulldogs boys hockey team made it to the quarter-finals of the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations hockey championships in Brooklin before falling 6-0 to St. Joseph.
St. Joseph ended up winning the gold medal with a 5-1 victory over Lambton Central Collegiate in the final.
On the way to the quarter-finals, the Bulldogs: opened with a 5-4 loss to seventh-ranked St. Joseph; beat top-ranked Holy Trinity 1-0; and, thumped 14th-ranked Hearst 6-1.
Scorers in the tournament for Sir Winston Churchill were: Dillon Atkinson with two goals and four assists; Jack McNeil with a goal and five helpers; Billy Condos and Joshua Savoie with two goals and two assists; Ty Kostyniuk with a goal and three setups; Brayden Steele with two goals and an assist; Simon Marshall with a goal and two helpers; James Lindsay with a pair of scores; and, Ty Gaudreault with a goal and an assist.
