Following are the 2019-20 athletic award winners at Centennial Secondary School in Welland.
Junior female athlete of the Year: Jayda Rodrigue, basketball, volleyball, track, soccer.
Junior male athlete of the year: Quinn Bendlis, volleyball, basketball.
Senior female athlete of the year: Emily Campbell, basketball, soccer.
Senior male athlete of the year: Garvan Leavens, football, hockey, rugby, baseball.
Adam Neill Award for helping around the physical education department: Jackson Collin.
Cougar Spirit Award: Sarah Stayzer.
Athlete of distinction for athletics and academics: Jessica Acaster, 96 per cent average, volleyball, softball, track and field.
Sportsperson of the year for excellence in a particular sport: Katelyn Romano for bronze at the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations wrestling championships and a bronze at the Canadian championships.
