Corvairs dominate Blackhawks
The Thorold Blackhawks fell behind early as they dropped a 7-1 decision to the Caledonia Corvairs in a Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League, Golden Horseshoe Conference game Thursday night at the Thorold Arena.
Caledonia built a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes before adding three more in the second to lead 5-0 after 40 minutes.
Adam Craievich paced the Corvairs with three goals while Bobby Harrison, Jamey Lauzon, Bailey Fletcher and Jesse Barwell added singles.
Brendan Charlton scored the lone goal for the Hawks with five minutes to play.
Caledonia outshot Thorold 37-19.
The Hawks, 3-6-1, are in Niagara Falls Friday.
The Corvairs improved to 9-1.

Nicolas Breault scored two goals as the Ancaster Avalanche defeated the visiting Fort Erie Meteors Thursday at the Morgan Firestone Arena.
Evan Ilkos, Matthew Bridgewater and Kyle Kennery added singles.
Mike Masotti and Doyle Groulx replied for the Meteors.
