COVID postpones IceDogs games
There will be no New Year’s Eve game at the Meridian Centre.
The Ontario Hockey League announced due to COVID-19 protocols, the Niagara IceDogs’ games Friday, Dec. 31 at home to the Peterborough Petes and Saturday, Jan. 1 at Peterborough have been postponed.
The games will be rescheduled at a later date. The league will provide an update on rescheduling information upon confirmation of new dates.
The IceDogs also had games postponed Dec. 17 at Sudbury and Dec. 18 versus North Bay.
“It is certainly very challenging,” IceDogs coach Billy Burke said. “You have a plan for the week with everything you want to get accomplished and then you have to completely audible on the fly. It’s important to not get frustrated with everything, take it as it comes and roll with the punches.”
Tickets for the game on Friday, Dec. 31 can used for the rescheduled game (date and time TBD) or redeemed at the IceDogs front office during operating business hours for any other remaining regular season home game based on available seating.
The IceDogs next scheduled game is Sunday, Jan. 2 at Hamilton.
