PANTHERS TAKE TWO
The Pelham Panthers under-10 girls basketball team was unbeaten in recent Ontario Basketball League action, defeating UA Canada Elite 19-17 and the Brampton Warriors 24-19.
Leading scorers for Pelham in the two games were Ella Howe (10), Ainsley MacDonald (10), Taylor Wilton (6), Maddy Hall (6), Addison Luchetta (4) and Adelaide Dearborn (4).
Marlowe Zekan contributed well defensively for Pelham, and Lily Eich played well defensively and did a great rebounding.

Major peewee win a pair
The Welland Telus Tigers major peewee A hockey team scored on its first two shots and held on for a 3-1 victory over the Niagara-on-the-Lake Wolves in major peewee A action on Monday night in Virgil.
Alexander McQuillan, Josh Lamb and Jordan Raso scored for Welland and Ethan Abraham replied for Niagara-on-the-Lake.
The Tigers opened the Niagara District Peewee Doherty division A Pool playoffs with an 8-0 shutout of the West Niagara Flying Aces.
Noah Bovine and Raso netted two goals each and single goals were contributed by Ryan Reeves, Dayton Flatt, Everett Hemauer and McQuillan. Lukas Biggar picked up his fourth shutout in league play this season.
Minor peewees trail OMHA series
The Welland 91.7 Giant FM/Country 89 Tigers hockey team will be looking to claw its way back into its six-point minor peewee A Ontario Minor Hockey Association quarter-final series with St. Thomas after the Stars prevailed during the first two games at home.
The Tigers dropped Game 1 4-0 when Cooper Henderson scored once and Tayven Barned exploded for a natural hat trick after the teams had battled scoreless for two periods.
Barned netted a short-handed marker and added an empty-net goal in Game 2 which saw St. Thomas win 3-0. William Wright would add a second empty-net goal as the Stars took a 4-0 lead in the series.
Game 3 2 will be played at 7 p.m. in Welland on Friday. If necessary, Game 4 will be played at 1:50 p.m. Saturday in Welland and Game 5 would be played in St. Catharines at Seymour-Hannah at 2:45 p.m. Sunday.

FLAG FOOTBALL REGISTRATION
The Niagara Regional Minor Football Association is adding flag football to its list of programs.
The NRMFA has joined as a full member of the Ontario Football Alliance and flag football will be offered to boys and girls ages 5-18. The season will run from April 18 through to the end of June or early July.
