Golden Horseshoe weekend roundup
Dylan Scriver potted a pair of goals as the Thorold Blackhawks blanked the Pelham Panthers 5-0 in Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League, Golden Horseshoe Conference action Sunday at Pelham.
Brett Bressette added a goal and an assist for the Blackhawks while Trevor Neumann and Dylan Latty also scored.
Chase Grsic made 19 saves for the shutout.
Nick McGowan faced 46 shots in goal for the Panthers.
Kilty B’s 5 Junior Canadians 2
Jacob Macdonald collected two goals and three assists as the Hamilton Kilty B’s topped the Welland Junior Canadians Sunday night in Welland.
Yon Shimpo also scored twice for the Kilty B’s while Ellie Rickwood added a goal and assist.
Allon Levin and Justin Vermeulen replied for Welland.
Matteo Drobac made 25 saves for the win.
Nicholas Kidd faced 40 shots in net for Welland.
Corvairs 5 Meteors 2
The Caledonia Corvairs fired 54 shots at Meteors’ goalie Dalton McBride en route to a 5-2 win at home Sunday.
Tyler Burnie, Matthew Bridgwater, Danyk Drouin, Eric Allair and Kessler Skye scored for Caledonia.
Nico Paone and Paul Cartone replied for Fort Erie.
Nick Clay made 30 saves to earn the win.
Canucks 5 Meteors 2
Jaleel Adams scored a pair of goals to lead the Niagara Falls Canucks past the Fort Erie Meteors at Fort Erie Saturday.
Andrew Bruno, Jake Burke and Brodie Thoms added singles for the Canucks.
Blake Hall and Drew Passero replied for the Mets.
Anthony Tremonte made 29 saves for the win.
