IceDogs fall to Otters

The Niagara IceDogs’ offence got off to a quick start and then was held in check for the rest of the game as they dropped a 4-1 decision to the Erie Otters in Ontario Hockey League action Wednesday night in Erie.
Anthony Agostinelli gave the IceDogs an early 1-0 lead when he netted his seventh just 1:15 into the game.
That was it for Niagara in the goal-scoring department as Erie goaltender Nolan Lalonde shut the door the rest of the way. Lalonde made 23 saves for the win.
Josh Rosenzweig faced 39 shots in goal for the IceDogs and was saddled with the loss.
Colby Saganiuk and Connor Lockhart scored for Erie in the first period before former Thorold Blackhawk Brett Bressette netted his 14th early in the second. Bressette also added an assist and was named the first star. Daniel D’Amato rounded out the scoring into an empty net.

The club was still without injured forwards Daniel Gushchin, Pano Fimas and Cam Peters while defencemen Landon Cato and Isaac Enright were also sidelined with injuries.
The IceDogs, 15-32-2-1, are home to the Barrie Colts, 26-18-4, Friday.
