IceDogs rally for first point of season

The Niagara IceDogs rallied twice from three-goal deficits to earn their first point of the season in Ontario Hockey League action Saturday night in Barrie.
The IceDogs trailed 5-2 and 6-3 in the third before a wild finish that saw them score twice in the final 2:38 for force overtime where they dropped a 7-6 decision to the Colts.
The loss was the fourth in a row to begin the season for Niagara, which still picked up a point for the OT loss.
Jacob Frasca netted his second goal of the game just 24 seconds into the extra period for the Colts.
Barrie led 2-1 after one period and 5-2 after two, setting the stage for a wild third period that saw Niagara outscore Barrie 4-1.
After scoring just three goals in the first three games, Niagara’s offence finally came alive firing 36 shots at Barrie goaltender Ben West. First-round pick Ryan Roobroeck netted his first OHL goal while Bronson Ride, Ryan Humphrey, Zack Lavoie, Andrew Wysick and Kevin He rounded out the scoring for the IceDogs, all with their first of the season.
Frasca and Roenick Jodoin had two each for the Colts while Beau Jelsma, Zachary Wigle and Olivier Savard also scored.
Owen Flores faced 42 shots in net for the IceDogs.
Ice cubes: Ethan Czata, Chris O’Flaherty, William Stewart and Daniil Sobolev did not dress for the IceDogs.
