IceDogs stumble in Guelph

The Niagara IceDogs fell into last place overall in the standings with a 6-4 loss to the Guelph Storm in Ontario Hockey League action Friday night at the Sleeman Centre in Guelph.
Niagara, 4-12-3, are now 0-2 under interim coach Jeff Angelidis and have dropped five straight and nine of their last 10.
The IceDogs jumped out to a 2-1 lead after one period on goals by Aidan Castle, with his team leading 11th of the season, and Brenden Sirizzotti’s fifth of the campaign.
Kevin He scored in the second for Niagara which led 3-2 after 40 minutes.
The Storm, who passed the IceDogs in the standings with the win, took control of the game with four straight goals in the third to build a 6-3 lead. Declan Waddick then rounded out the scoring with his eighth of the season at the 19:57 mark. It was Waddick’s fourth game in a row with a goal.
Owen Flores made his second straight start in goal for the IceDogs and made 38 saves.
Ice cubes: Evan Klein, Andrew Wycisk and Rodwin Dionicio did not dress for the IceDogs.
