Jackfish add former pro
The Welland Jackfish have added another piece to their puzzle, signing utility player Chris Robinson for the 2023 season.
Robinson, a native of Uxbridge, joins the Fish following two professional seasons with the Winnipeg Goldeyes of the American Association and the Schaumburg Boomers of the Frontier League.
Before turning pro, Robinson spent his collegiate career with Morehead State D1 program where he recorded a career .351 average with 121 RBI and a .430 on base percentage. He was also named All-Ohio Valley Conference by the league and College Sports Madness in 2014.
“Chris had a stellar career as a Division 1 catcher, he has played outfield and infield at the professional level bringing yet more versatility to the Jackfish,” Jackfish General Manager Jason McKay said.
Before heading to school, Robinson was a member of the Canadian Junior National Team where he won a bronze medal at the Canada Cup and was named to the Toronto Star All-Star Team.
