Junior B Athletics tie Mohawks
The St. Catharines WMKL Athletics played to an 8-8 overtime tie with the Elora Mohawks Wednesday night in their home opener at Canada Games Park in Ontario Lacrosse Association junior B action.
The Mohawks led 2-1 after one period and 5-3 after two before the A’s rallied with four goals in the third period to send the game into overtime where each team scored once.
Trent Mooradian and Colton Armitage each scored twice for the A’s while singles went to Carter Accursi, Jack Parker, Landon Jaeckle and Jaden Patterson. Patterson and Cody MacNeil each chipped in with four assists.
JJ Lavinge and Brinley Wilson each had two goals for Elora while Peyton Drone, Cole Hunsberger, Keegan Detweiler and Connor Willets also scored.
Mike Napoli made 54 saves in net for St. Catharines.
The A’s visit the Point Edward Pacers Saturday and the London Blue Devils Sunday. Their next home game is Friday, May 3 versus the Cambridge Highlanders. Game time at CGP is 8 p.m.
