MACLEAN SECOND IN ONTARIO
St. Catharines Golf and Country Club member Ben MacLean fired rounds of 75, 71 and 70 at the Greenhills Golf Club in London to finish second at the Ontario Juvenile (under-17) Boys Golf Championship.
The Niagara Falls teen’s even par total placed him two shots behind the winner.
Canadian juvenile champion Luke DelGobbo, a Lookout Point member, opened with a 81 but rebounded with a pair of 72s to tie for 13th.
Other local in the field included: Lookout Point’s Isaiah Ellis (74-79-75), tied for 19th; Lookout Point’s Matthew Martel (74-77-77), tied for 19th; and, Lookout Point’s Cameron Kiemele (73-76-80), tied for 22nd.
NIAGARA TIGERS TRYOUTS
Tryouts will be held at Ridley College for the Niagara Tigers AAU boys travel basketball program.
On Friday Sept. 6, the Grade 9 and 10 teams will go from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and the Grade 11 squad will go from 8:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
On Saturday, Sept. 7, the Grade 9 and 10 teams will go from 10 a.m. to noon and the Grade 11 squad will go from noon to 2 p.m.
All interested players should register online at niagaratigers.com. The Season will run from mid-March to mid-July and include
Signature or CYBL League plus two or three top US/Canada events.
