THOROLD ELITE TRACK RESULTS
Thorold Elite Track Club member Carson Gauthier won five gold medals in the under-14 division at the Athletics Ontario track and field championships.
Carson won gold in the long jump (5.20 metres), javelin (44.67 metres), shot put (11.51 metres) and discus (37.71 metres) and then teamed with Tyrese Gibson, Kaleb Kennedy and Malachi Campbell to win gold in the 100-metre relay.
The Thorold club won 16 medals and was the under-14 division champion.
Competing in the under-14 division, Kaleb Kennedy won gold in high jump (1.57 metres) and silver in javelin.
Ava Neumann captured gold in the under-14 girls high jump with a leap of 1.5 metres.
Mason Petrucci took gold in the under-16 Boys 1500-metre steeplechase in a time of 4:50.
Nathaniel Dery took gold in the under-16 boys javelin with a toss of 52.06 m.
Competing in the under-14 division, Tyrese Gibson took silver in long jump and bronze in the 300 metres and 80 metres.
Noah Dommasch finished second in the under-18 boys high jump.
Daniel Swayze won bronze in the under-16 boys high jump and Cassie Orr took home bronze in the under-14 girls javelin.
NIAGARA JUEL/JUEL PREP UPDATES
Entering its 10th season, the Niagara Juel franchise has been taken over by the Pelham Panthers Basketball Association.
Don Larman, a former Juel prep coach and a Juel board member, will oversee all operations of the Juel program. Frank Keltos will be returning as the head coach for the Juel team and Sue Sentance is back as head coach for Juel Prep.

All Juel and Juel Prep players are invited to an open gym time Aug. 14 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Pelham Community Centre. The coaching staffs of both teams will be on hand to answer questions.
Juel tryouts will be held Wednesday, Aug. 21 from 7:30 to 9 p.m., which includes a parent information meeting at 7 p.m.; Wednesday, Aug. 28 from 7:30 to 9 p.m.; Saturday, Aug. 31 from 12:30 to 2 p.m.; and, Saturday, Sept. 7 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Juel Prep tryouts will be held: Wednesday, Aug. 21 from 6 to 7:30 p.m, which includes a parent information meeting at 7:30 p.m.; Wednesday, Aug. 28 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, Aug. 31 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; and, Saturday, Sept. 7 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
All tryouts will be held at the Pelham community centre.
All players must register online at pelhambasketball.ca. There is a one-time tryout fee of $25 to be paid at the first tryout.

BADHI IMPROVES TO 3-0
Niagara Falls boxer Lucas Badhi improved his pro record to 3-0 with a knockout against Luis Yan Revilla in Mexico.
His next fight will be Sept. 7 at the Hamilton Convention Centre.
