Saint Michael’s athletes of the year
Ashlyn Fehr and Nick Karagiannis were named Saint Michael’s Grade 12 female and male athletes of the year at the school’s recent athletic awards ceremony.
Grade 11 athletes of the year were Angelo Butera and Jaela Carter.
Grade 10 athletes of the year were Fionn Aneesh and Serena D’Amico.
Grade 9 athletes of the year were Jessiah Bowyer and Rianna Cuviello.
Sporting highlights for the year included: Ashlyn Fehr who won a silver in the senior girls single at the Canadian Secondary Schools Rowing Association championships and teamed with Ava Hodgson to earn silver in the senior girls double; Carson Gauthier who won silver in senior boys javelin at the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations championships; the varsity boys hockey team which won a Southern Ontario Secondary Schools Association title; and, the senior and junior boys volleyball teams, the senior boys curling team and the varsity girls hockey teams who all won Niagara Catholic Athletic Association championships.
