South Regional track and field results
Coco van Nynatten of West Niagara and Saint Michael’s Kalista Elliot were the biggest local winners at the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations South Regional track and field meet last week in Brampton.
Van Nynatten won the junior girls’ shot put, discus and javelin and Elliott placed first in the senior girls 100-metre hurdles, long jump and triple jump.
Other local multiple winners were: Sophia Saldutto of Notre Dame who topped the senior girls’ discus and javelin; Collegiate’s Cassie Kemp in the girls II 100 and 800 metres; Owen Robins of Port Colborne in the junior boys’ shot put and discus; and, Caleb Grover of Port Colborne in the senior boys’ shot put and discus.
Following are winners and top local results from the South Regional meet. The top four finishers advance to the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations championships June 8 to 10 in Ottawa.
