The following are the matchups for Day 2 of the 58th Standard High School Basketball Tournament Tuesday. The tournament has a day off Wednesday followed by the championship and consolation semifinal games Thursday, all at the St. Catharines Collegiate beginning at 3 p.m.

TUESDAY

Championship Round

At St. Francis

St. Francis vs. Greater Fort Erie, 7:30 p.m.

At Governor Simcoe

Governor Simcoe vs. Thorold, 7:30 p.m.

At Eden

Eden vs. Denis Morris, 7:30 p.m.

At Ridley

Ridley vs. E.L. Crossley, 5:30 p.m.

Consolation round

At St. Francis

Sir Winston Churchill vs. Laura Secord, 6 p.m.

At Governor Simcoe

Centennial vs. Lakeshore, 6 p.m

At Eden

Collegiate vs. Smithville, 6 p.m.

At Ridley

Holy Cross vs. Niagara Christian College, 4 p.m.

Bill Potrecz, a Welland Notre Dame and Niagara College graduate, spent 32 years as a sportswriter at The Standard covering almost every sport imaginable from high school, to junior hockey, to a World Series and Stanley Cup final. He took a voluntary buyout from the St. Catharines Standard in early 2017. By his estimation he has covered more than 1,500 junior hockey games. His passion is baseball but hockey is a close second. His guilty pleasure is professional wrestling, specifically the glory years of the National Wrestling Alliance.
