Thursday’s Standard semifinal matchups

Following a day off Wednesday, action shifts to Ridley College Thursday for semifinal championship and consolation round games at the 61st Annual Standard High School Basketball Tournament.

Admission at the door is $5 for adults and $2 for students. All proceeds go to the tournament’s bursary fund.

All games at Ridley College.

THURSDAY

CONSOLATION ROUND

Smithville vs. Thorold 3 p.m.

Denis Morris  vs. St. Catharines Collegiate, 4:30 p.m.

CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND

West Niagara vs. Governor Simcoe, 6 p.m.

St. Francis vs. Eden, 7:30 p.m.

He took a voluntary buyout from the St. Catharines Standard in early 2017. By his estimation he has covered more than 1,500 junior hockey games. His passion is baseball but hockey is a close second. His guilty pleasure is professional wrestling, specifically the glory years of the National Wrestling Alliance.
