Undefeated weekend for Generals

Three games resulted in three shutouts for the Niagara Generals last week.
Bantam
The Niagara Generals improved t0 5-0 with a solid win over the host Oakville Titans.
The Generals’ defence was a total team effort limiting the Titans to less than 75 yards. John Lonschek-McGillen got an interception, Raphael Robinson recovered a fumble.
Offensively the Generals put up solid numbers. Touchdowns went to Luke Harker, Luis Corredor-Reyes, Tyson Louis-charles and Mark Hazzouri. Hazzouri added two converts and Cole Stayzer got the 2PAT.
The final game of the season will be in Waterloo against the Predators.
Peewee
The Generals remain undefeated as they beat the Waterloo Predators 31-0 Saturday at home. Layken Crawford led the way for the Generals with 125 yards rushing, three touchdowns and a 30-yard touchdown reception. Sawyer Grant had 100 all purpose yards with a rushing and passing touchdown. Jaxon Bielich had a few solo tackles and a fumble recovery. Ronin Weins and Jaxson Smith also held it down for the Generals Defense who kept the Waterloo team off the scoreboard.
The Generals have one regular season game left before playoffs and it will be a big test on the road against a tough Brantford team.
“This is where the hard work will pay off and I believe these boys have the grit that is needed to push through and get the victory. I always try to make sure they are prepared for every situation that comes their way. It’s our job as coaches to give them knowledge they need so they can execute when the time comes. We have come this far and worked so hard it should be an exciting game against a tough Brantford Bison team on the road,” coach Cliff Miller said.
Atom
The Atom Generals faced off against Waterloo Predators and came away a 44-0 road victory.
The first quarter started off with a huge defensive stop by the Generals defence, leading to the Generals scoring on the first drive of the game. Through two quarters the Generals defence was outstanding, stopping Waterloo on all four of their drives. The Generals offence was excellent in the first half of the game, scoring on all three drives, leading 24-0 at the half.
In the second half, the Generals offence continued to roll, scoring three more touchdowns.
The offence was led today by Jorge Luis-Corredor Reyes, who had three majors on the day and about 200 rushing yards. Weston Grant, Jackson Lewis and Eli McLean also scored for the Generals while Luc Vachon kicked in four extra points on the day. The offensive line was exceptional today, they really made it easy to run the ball.
The Generals defence was led today by Joey Smees and Xavier Sorgenfrei, who were in the Waterloo backfield multiple times stopping the runners and sacking the quarterback. Ryden Lamb-Mascia had a great day on defence recording multiple solo tackles.
“Today every player on the Generals team executed at their assignments and the outcome showed. As a coach it’s nice to see all their hard work at practice starting to pay off and displaying what we are capable of,” coach Andrew Lewis said. “We look forward to closing the season out in Brantford next weekend against an undefeated Bisons team, I know our guys will be ready for the challenge.”
