Weekend junior B roundup
It was a productive weekend for the Pelham Panthers.
The Panthers secured a pair of 3-2 victories over the Welland Junior Canadians to improve to 6-10-0-2 in Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League, Golden Horseshoe Conference action.
Sunday at home, Hunter Godmere scored all three goals, including the winner halfway through the third with the man advantage, to give the Panthers the sweep of the weekend series.
Matt Baumann and Brandon Stojcevski replied for the Junior Canadians.
Harrison Flemming made 25 saves for the victory.
Former Panther Nicholas Kidd kicked out 43 shots for Welland.
Friday night in Welland, Brandon Edwards broke a 2-2 tie with the winner in the third period.
Godmere and Griffan Vaughan also scored for the winners.
Lucas Trimarchi and Ivan Osmanin replied for Welland.
Corvairs 4 Meteors 0
The Caledonia Corvairs improved to 17-1-0-1 with a 4-0 win at Fort Erie Saturday.
Jonathan Kilby paced Caledonia with two goals while singles came off the sticks of Matthew Bridgwater and Ryan Wells.
Aidan Hughes turned back 19 shots for the shutout.
